FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOPS IN SANTIAGO, CHILE

In July 2019, 40 teachers and school managers from Latin America and the Caribbean met in Santiago, Chile to attend a series of special thematic workshops that aimed to update participant knowledge and encourage them to share their experiences about the main issues discussed. The topics covered were: classroom observation and feedback for school managers; maths class observation for teachers; school improvement; and use of effective time in the classroom for teachers and school managers.

Class Observation and Educational Feedback workshop

This workshop aimed to acknowledge and value teacher accompaniment based on classroom observation and educational feedback as a tool for professional development and the improvement of student learning.

Maths Class Observation workshop

The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding of observation in the maths classroom as a tool with which to identify key elements to enrich classroom work.

School Improvement in our Educational Establishment workshop

The workshop aimed to help participants reflect on the results and implications of school improvement research into a particular school, including being able to identify its current stage of improvement and how to develop strategies and recognize potential improvement areas.

Efficient Use of Time in the Classroom workshop

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of the efficient use of time in teaching and learning processes in the classroom.
